Fox has totally regionalized the marketing, advertising and financial operations of the Fox and National Geographic channels in Brazil. Abel Puig, managing director for the channels in Brazil, says this gives the programmer more freedom to act locally. ?Our channels will provide what the market wants,? he says, recalling earlier moves toward commercial flexibility: ?We were the first to eliminate exclusivity.? Content and marketing of National Geographic Channel will be given more emphasis. Fox News, generated in Miami in English, will launch in the second half ?if negotiations proceed on their present course,? he says.
